Program Manager

About the role
We are looking for a Program Manager to lead and manage all Wordliners programs such as the open mic, book club, creative cycle, movie club, workshops, and external collaborations.
You will be the engine of the community. You will plan the calendar, coordinate teams, manage partnerships, and ensure every event happens smoothly from idea to execution.
Responsibilities
1- Own the annual program calendar, plan dates for Open Mic, Book Club, Movie Club, Creative Cycle, and special projects.
2- Lead end-to-end planning for each event: venue, budget, team roles, timeline, logistics.
3- Coordinate all internal teams from Design, Content, Media, Logistics to Welfare.
4- Be the main contact for external collaborations and partnerships. Draft agreements, clarify who leads and who supports to avoid ownership issues.
5- Handle documentation — proposals, reports, MoUs, concept notes for partners and sponsors.
6- Manage event execution on-ground and ensure proper archiving (photos, videos, reports).
7- Track impact — attendance, engagement, feedback and suggest improvements.
8- Ensure alignment with our core goals — SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Culture), and community growth.
Requirements
1- Must be based in Kano.
2- Proven experience managing events, community projects, or NGO programs.
3- Strong organizational and leadership skills that can lead a team without being pushed.
4- Excellent communication and writing skills. Ability to write proposals, MoUs, and partnership notes.
5- Ability to handle pressure, solve problems fast, and manage multiple projects at once.
6- Passion for literature, youth development, and creative community building.
7- Must be available evenings/weekends during events
